Dear Editor,

The proposed immigration reform bill is an Amnesty Bill with no border security whatsoever.

I am opposed to this bill and am annoyed that the authors have written it in a manner intended to mislead both taxpayers and members of Congress. Sadly, Speaker of the House, John Boehner, is part of the “scheme team”, with Harry Reid, behind this bill. Our own Senator Sherrod Brown, a long time opponent of legal immigration, supports it as well.

For example:

Page 35, Line 24 states that nothing in the bill requires the Secretary (Janet Napolitano), to build a fence or employ other means of security.

Page 1 only requires the Secretary (Janet Napolitano) to submit a plan to Congress prior to implementing amnesty. A “plan”. A sheet of paper, not actual action. Napolitano is already on record as stating that border security has never been so good as it is now. Under this bill she can and will legally ignore border security and actually have the authority to reduce it from its current inadequate levels.

Page 983 of the bill, which contains a special visa exemption for foreign seafood workers in the 49th state, yet unemployment in this region is unacceptably high.

These are just samples from a clever bill written by slick lawyers to trick everyone into thinking its a border security bill, when in truth, it is an amnesty bill, with no border security.

If it passes, then the number of illegal immigrants will increase substantially because it will essentially give citizens rights to non-citizens, requiring us to pay for their healthcare, education and other entitlements.

Don’t fall for this.

Ancestors were legal immigrants. Illegal immigration is at the root of the massive drug trafficking and crime in our border states. We need to secure the border first, then deal with legal immigration improvements. This bill does neither.

Thank you,
