Commissioners meet at Jamboree

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – The Belmont County commissioners met at Jamboree in the Hills Wednesday to conduct their regular meeting.

Commissioners motioned to advertise for a part-time Human Resources manager for the Belmont County commissioners office.

Commissioners motioned to turn over all bids received for the Belmont County Engineer’s project to resurface various county highways to the engineer for review and recommendation.

Commissioners accepted the resignation of Jackie L. Marling, jail nurse, effective Aug. 24.

Commissioner Charles R. Probst, Jr. was authorized to execute a grant agreement with Ohio Public Works Commission for a bridge replacement project totalling $399,600. The bridge is located on County Road 4 (Sandy Hill Road).

Commissioners motioned to make four re-appointments and one appointment to the Belmont County Community Action Commission governing board for a one-year term commencing Aug. 1, 2013-July 31, 2014. Re-appointments are Stanley Stein of Bellaire, Jody Geese of Martins Ferry, Margaret Miller and Robert Quirk, both of St. Clairsville. Mike Crawford was appointed.

The clerk of the board was authorized to establish a date and time for the subCommissioners motioned to approve the hiring of Attorney Jeff Stankunas, Isaac Wiles Burkholder & Teetor, LLC, to address employee issues in the Belmont County Buildings and Grounds Department.

Commissioners motioned to adopt a resolution establishing signatory authority for county DJFS documents.

Commissioners approved the revised scope of work for custom woodwork and furniture for the Belmont County Common Pleas courtroom renovation project. There will be no additional cost.
