BELLAIRE- VFW Post #626 of Bellaire is raising money to purchase Action Track Chairs for wounded warriors. These chairs will go to the LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve, which is located in Potter County, Pa.

LEEK Hunting and Mountain Reserve sets on 256 acres and has another 24,315 acres available for additional activities. LEEK is a charitable, non-profit organization that is ran by volunteers.

The Action Track Chairs are all-terrain chairs that allows disabled veterans to hunt, fish and go anywhere of the LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve.

These chairs cost anywhere from $14,000 to $18,000.

VFW Post #626 will take donations until April of next year (2014). Their goal is to be able to purchase one or two of these chairs. All donations are tax deductible. To make a donation, please contact VFW Post #626.

“We hope everybody will do what they can to help,” said Post #626 member John Fodor. “They have supported us, not it is our time to support and give back to them. They remembered us, now let’s remember them.”

Fodor along with fellow member Kevin West started to raise money for these chairs after they were given a tour of the LEEK Preserve.

LEEK sponsors four hunts a year. They start with a open house that will be held in June and from there, they will host four separate events throughout the year:

  • Spring Gobble in May
  • Blackpowder Deer in October
  • Bear in November
  • Antlered and Antlerless Deer in December.

Small game and fishing opportunities are available as well. LEEK runs solely on donations from businesses and organizations. For more information on LEEK, go to
