Hill pleads guilty in sex case

ST. CLAIRSVILLE Ryker Anthony Hill, 23, 920 Indiana St., Martins Ferry, Belmont County Common Pleas Court Judge John M. Solovan II and pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony of the fourth degree, gross sexual imposition of a victim younger than 13, a felony of the third degree occurring June 2011, and three counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, a felony of the fourth degree.

Sentencing was set for Oct. 11. The state recommended a prison sentence of five years. Hill will be designated a Tier 2 sex offender. A pre-sentence investigation, victim impact statement and mental health evaluation were ordered.

Holly Jo Logan, 31, 116 Pointissia Road, Scio, pleaded no contest to unlawful sexual conduct with a 15-year-old, a felony of the third degree occurring Dec. 1, 2012. Sentence was set for Sept. 13. She faces a maximum of five years and designation as a Tier 2 offender. A PSI and victim impact statement were ordered.

Justin Michael Dalrymple, 24, 3 Wegee Lane, Shadyside, was sentenced on one count of aggravated assault, a felony of the fourth degree occurring May 2, 2013. He was given five years of community based controls and will serve six months jail with credit for 90 days served, six months EOCC. Solovan noted the serious physical, emotional, and financial harm suffered by the victim. Dalrymple apologized and noted the presence of alcohol as an influence.

Justin Michael Archer, 25, 613 Ivy Lane, Martins Ferry, attended his second status conference, and retained the public defender. His trial was continued generally, with motions set for Aug. 23 and a status conference set for Aug. 30, when a new trial date and plea agreement deadline will be set. He is accused of four counts of rape, a felony of the first degree occurring March 1, 2013. Each charge carries a sentence of life without the possibility of parole for 10 years, meaning Archer faces a maximum sentence of 40 years if sentences are consecutive.
